This may resemble a little bit of my last post but first some updates are in order.

I am still doggie paddling through the ocean deep headache called life. Life has been up to some funny business lately. If you remember the photo-shoot with Genesis I was dying to edit, I finally get sometime to edit them and guess what happens. My computer crashes, it seems that I have reached the limit to the memory of the computer. That's logical considering I have about 4 years of photography on there. But what was especially annoying is that it crashed while I was editing the Genesis photos; (that has a nice ring to it honestly). I finish editing a photo, click save, and instead of saving, it closes the program. It did this 3 times before I gave up. I've been transferring files to my old, used and abused, laptop for almost 9 months but it has been difficult. I finally managed to finish a few photos last night. Here's a preview shot.

Ok, to explain the title of this blog we must go back to Saturday last week. I had an event to shoot and I was running on E. No joke I was running with barely any energy, no food for about 4 hours. At first I wasn't taking pictures at first I was helping set up.

It was a health fair and distribution event my aunt was heading at church so I have to help. I was moving tables, transporting food, telling people where their stations where it was good. I had a break; scratch that, I gave myself a break by hiding in the back of the church so I wouldn't be called. Saying that out-loud made it seem worse. But nothing was happening for a good while so it wasn't that bad.

When I started taking photos it was going well. The lighting was good for the most part and it was pretty easy to adapt. I had to learn how to use a speedlite flash in tight quarters on the fly. It was great-ish, since the stations were in different areas of the place I had to run around a lot. That statement was in no way a joke at times I was full on football sprinting with my camera to get some shots. It was a lot of run-and-gun photography the type that I love.

I decided to humble my photography spirit and take only 1 camera and 2 lens to shoot with. I wasn't duel-wielding today. Remember how life was up to some funny business, well Saturday was not an exception. My main camera battery died and the backup had about 25% battery left. Now I am not a stranger to this dilemma, this has happened numerous times in my 4 years of photography; which has curb stomped both of my computers. The trick is to alternate constantly between batteries. When one gets a little bit of charge, use it. But the only place I could safely charge the battery was on the other side of the church. So this added to the running around that I had to do.

Within this rush hour of photography I forgot the one thing all humans need to survive, or at least think on a sane level; I... forgot... to eat. I forgot to fill up on food; and its not like I wasn't offered any food, they had some food for those who had worked the event, aka Vlad. But I kept putting it off to get the shot. My focus wasn't on food or living but just getting the shot. Worst part is that on Saturday July 20th, I forgot to put snacks in my camera bag.

So I'm running on low energy, my camera is running on low battery, I'm also physically running, and God knows when this flash battery will run out. Nevertheless I survive the event but I wasn't in a chirpy mood as I usually am. It was at the point where my back was hurting. When I got home I was so tired I went to sleep. I couldn't eat or anything, I just needed rest from this long day.

So moral lessons are, charge your batteries, bring snacks, and REMEMBER TO EAT FOOD. So far I have some more photos to edit and some other photo-ventures coming up. I am saving up for a new laptop and hopefully I get it before my computer blows up...
